Modacare 400 mg Tablet is used to promote wakefulness in patients with excessive daytime sleepiness due to sleep disorders. It also helps improve wakefulness in people with shift work sleep disorder whose work schedules interfere with a normal sleep pattern. It will not cure the sleep disorders or get rid of all kinds of sleepiness. It should not be used to replace adequate sleep or by individuals who do not have a diagnosed sleep disorder.

The usual recommended dose of Modafinil for adults is 200 mg once daily.
